Moon

If your name be moon

a being will dream in the day and live at night

a life will befriend the bats and swoon

at your confounding sight

a  heart’s strange beat in your light

will be waking of a dead man

a flower will bloom when you are bright

a soul will fade when you’ll wane

if your name be moon

  1. I loved the character in this poem. It has the vibe of the classic too, but it has a window that shows into your psyche too. The word “confound” and followed later by the “waking of a dead man” imagery gave me the sense of jaggedness, of fast movement, just like the peaks and valleys drawn by the heartbeat monitor when the patient is vibrant. 😉
