Burial Places

They were looking for burial places.

The earth was dead,

they were looking for burial places.

‘The Sun’, said sages of Jupiter.

‘Those nearer stars’, said sages of Sun.

Universities at nearer stars declared:

‘Distant stars’.

The earth was dead,

they were looking for burial places

‘Black hole’, said scholars at distant stars.

An old black hole finally emitted

an idea out of its mysterious depths:

‘Man’s heart!’

‘Bravo, wonderful, genius’,

applauded the entire universe.

They were looking for burial places

Man was dead,

they were looking for burial places.

Toofaan

men and earth were one

the wind growled, blew and spun

she felt warm breath against her veil

screwed her eyes at dust filled gale

out of no where and God knows what

a thing burnt her eye a lot

the sensation resembled her faith

now it was there now it was not

like her faith she let it be,

decided to wait and see

and walked into

the eye of the storm

*The word ‘language’ in urdu translates as zibaan/bolee  but in sindhi it translates as ‘molee’. Its not pronounced with an ‘m’ but with a sindhi letter which has no english or urdu equivalent so I am unable to write it down. Ask a sindhi friend to explain it to you.
